Science On The Move - Minisink Valley High School

Designed by Joan DiStasio

I am science teacher at Minisink Valley High School in Slate Hill, New York. I grew up in New York City, went to St. Catharine Academy, and received a B.A. in chemistry from Lehman College, CUNY. My master's degree is from SUNY, New Paltz in Chemistry Education. I've worked as a medical research assistant in Manhattan, and as a scientific editor in Park Ridge, New Jersey. I have edited almost twenty books of use to the chemical industry and have written my own workbooks for science for use in the classroom. I am currently involved in the "Science on the Move" project at Marist College, where a number of science teachers from the region have come together this summer to update our skills in using technology in the classroom, including the computer. I currently teach chemistry at the high school level -- A.P., Honors, Regents and General.
