BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Hello! Welcome to my web page. I am a teacher currently working at Marlboro High School, in the town of Marlboro, New York. I am New York State permanently certified in (and can teach) Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, and General Science. During the 2007-2008 school year I will be teaching the Physical Setting: Honors Chemistry, the Physical Setting: Honors Earth Science plus College Biology 105 and 106 (Bridge programs with Ulster County Community College where students can earn up to 8 college credits). I am also the Science Department Coordinator for the Marlboro Central School District.

I graduated Morrisville Ag. and Tech. in 1978 with an A.A.S. degree in Animal Science. I received my B.S. degree in Biology from Cornell University in 1980. My Master's degree was obtained at SUNY New Paltz in 1984 in the area of Secondary Education - Biology.

This web page was made possible for me by Marist College during the summer of 1997. I was part of a program entitled Science On The Move and all participants were trained in the use of new technologies which could be used in the classroom. This was a 3-year program in which I have been involved. I have been part of many other science programs including the VISION program during the summer of '91, and Seminars in Earth Science during 1986 and 1987. I have also been a member of STANYS (Science Teachers Association of New York State) for over 22 years.

I also currently work part time during the year and during the summers up in Albany at the State Education Department working on the Physical Setting: Earth Science Regents Exams. I play an integral part in putting together the Regents Earth Science Exam students take throughout the State. I have been working at State Ed since 1995.

If you are interested in science and science related topics, I hope my web pages will be of some use.

My students, and their parents, will be able to use these pages to see what topics and areas are covered in each course I teach during the school year, link to other places on the World Wide Web which are related to topics and areas of study, and to get assignments and important dates off the web concerning my courses which will hopefully be updated periodically.
