College Biology 105 has a heavy emphasis on the basics of biology. Some of the topics covered are as follows:

  1. Introduction to Biology and Classification of Organisms
  2. Prokaryotes (Archaea and Bacteria)
  3. Basic Chemistry and Biochemistry (Organic Chemistry)
  4. Cells and Tissues
  5. Biological Membranes
  6. DNA, RNA, Cell Division (Mitosis & Meiosis) and Protein Synthesis
  7. Genetics
  8. Cellular Respiration and Photosynthesis
  9. Evolution

There will be 10 labs during the semester (mostly on each of the areas listed above).

College Biology 106 has a heavy emphasis placed on human systems and the Eukaryotic Kingdoms. Major emphasis will also be on the classification of organisms. A brief outline for this course is as follows:

  3. Kingdom Plantae
  4. Kingdom Animalia
  5. Nervous System
  6. Excretory System
  7. Circulatory System
  8. Endocrine System
  9. Respiratory System
There will be 10 labs for this course. They will mostly be on the major phyla of animals.
